🐞 Busy Bee With a Weekend Full of Bowls! 🐞
This week has felt like quite the drag. I don't want to be overly dramatic because it's just a week, but my oh my I don't think I've ever had to think about so many things in one week! I don't like to classify myself as someone who "gets stressed" because I really don't. If I have an essay to do and it's four in the morning, I really am not stressed out about it. Now this blog post isn't going to be a list of things I had to worry about this week. Because who wants to hear that? I must say I feel like I haven't been posting adequate content, but I promise this weekend I'll work a smidge harder to get you something better. That is all that I've been doing anyway. I'm sure my worries don't even measure up to those of adults and I'm not in the mood to tell you a pity story. But enough of dancing around the topic.
The Super Bowl is approaching us as we speak (I said for dramatic effect) and you know what else is? The Ethics Bowl Competition. And the Puppy Bowl. And the Kitten Bowl (who knew there was a Kitten Bowl?!). The Ethics Bowl is similar to Debate except you don't have to disagree with the other team. It's more of a discussion between teams to see which team has really hashed out all there is to discuss.
Our team specifically did feel like we hadn't prepared. We had to meet Every. Day. Of the week before the competition and still did not get enough done. Anyway, on the coming day of the competition, we, one of three public schools that attended out of eight schools total (sorry if that was confusing)......WON! What team? Wildcats!
We're actually called the Mustangs.
I wouldn't have felt this good about our win if I hadn't participated enough. I was surprised with myself that I was quite vocal about the cases that I felt most passionate about. But that's to be expected. And after putting in so much work and going to bed at twelve on a Friday and having to wake up at 7:30 on a Saturday, I'm pretty darn proud of the team and myself. Now all that's left is winning another regional competition and we go to the National Ethics Bowl Competition in North Carolina. Shouldn't be too bad.
Now Sunday...is a different story. Not nearly as productive, but I wasn't really concerned. I did watch a portion of the Kitten and Puppy Bowls because it's a MUST-DO. While the Patriots and the Rams were preparing to play in the most important game in American Football, I binge watched YouTube videos. Not my finest hour(s).
Now on the hour of the Super Bowl, which I honestly wasn't super hyped about. I spent time dancing in my friend's basement while everyone was anticipating the win of the Patriots. I'd say that was time well spent. Let me know what your thoughts on the Super Bowl are. All opinions are welcome. I wouldn't say this Super Bowl win was the most surprising; more on the boring side. A highlight that came out of that night was the food. My mom had ordered food specifically and asked for no meat or eggs. I think you can easily guess what might have happened. And then we ordered a pizza and asked for it to be vegan (or just have no cheese) and then that was also compromised. I can safely say this wasn't the most interesting food mishap I've had to deal with. But it's not the biggest deal in the world. I ended up eating leftover chili. Probably the healthiest food option available so some good came out of it 😊.
That was quite a weekend! What can I say, we all become very busy sometimes and we have to cope with it, be strong, and reap the rewards (perfect time for a cliche). For me the reward was finally getting to write this post. I could keep talking about everything, but I don't think you want to be around for that. I wouldn't want to bore you on a Monday. It's hard enough 😣. Continue to be strong my subjects! How about a quote for the road?
